Priscilla Koh (OT)

I started my occupational therapy practice in orthopaedics before moving on to paediatrics. I have a wide range of experience in early intervention programs, private practice, and home-based therapy.  My experience has allowed me to support and build the capacity of every family to the best of their abilities. I have a master’s in occupational therapy and a specialist certification in Neurodevelopmental Technique (C/NDT).  For the past years, I have devoted myself to treating children with neurodevelopmental conditions such as Cerebral Palsy, genetic or chromosomal disorders such as Down Syndrome. My treatment plan includes working closely with the family and tailoring movement-based strategies into the daily life routines of the child.

I am pleased that I can work and excel in the Special Education field, and I have found fulfilment in what I am doing. I have an Advanced Diploma in the Education of Children with Special Needs. I was awarded the Leading Foundation Teacher Award 2019 for Early Childhood and Special Needs Education by National Institute of Education. I make every effort to support my students and their families while maintaining an excellent professional working relationship with them. I understand that involving parents and /or other family members in the intervention process is more powerful than focusing exclusively on the child. I can design individualised teaching materials, communication board, behavioural charts and work systems for my students and coach parents in using these materials for effective daily learning and functioning at home.

Bio:

I have been a paediatric occupational therapist for more than 20 years in a variety of settings, including a hospital, special needs school, early intervention centre, and private clinics. I have conducted many parent training workshops, group therapies for children and adolescents, and presented papers at the National Occupational Therapy Conference. My experience and training have allowed me to support children and adolescents across a wide range of diagnoses, ages, and stages of development. I am passionate about empowering families and children with skills that are meaningful to them in their daily lives, especially in skills related to executive functioning. I believe, as parents, we would like to see our children reach their full potential and be as independent as possible. I hope that my experience and training in sensory integration, master coaching, teaching, and counselling can help as many children and families as possible.

Joy Erika (EdT)

I have worked with children at varying stages of development and taught a wide variety of skills, including adaptive living skills (such as, toileting, feeding), social skills, and literacy skills. I greatly enjoy educating and supporting my students in their endeavours, and I do my best to get to know them well and understand their individual strengths and needs. To help my students optimize their progress, I try my best to engage their parents and the school teachers. I do this by providing regular updates and guiding the implementation of individualized learning resources such as visual schedules, visual- communication systems, and work systems that can be easily adopted at home and in school. I believe that children who learn differently need a teacher who understands them and cares for them. A good relationship is the foundation for consistent learning to occur.

Rebecca Ng (ST)

I am a paediatric speech and language therapist with extensive years of working experience. Besides being a clinician, I am also a mother of four beautiful daughters. My love for children has driven my desire to teach and guide and see them develop meaningful interactions and communications with their families and others around them. I have worked in multiple settings such as early intervention centres, schools, private clinics, and home-based therapy. I am well-trained in numerous speech, language, communication, play and feeding approaches that are relevant and evidence-based. Throughout my career, I had worked with children with various developmental diagnoses and challenges to bring about improvements in articulation, feeding, and social-communicative behaviours.  I am a fun-loving therapist who believes every child is special and can learn within a safe and nurturing environment where he or she feels supported and confident. I celebrate every small developmental milestone that a child makes and rejoices with him or her. I also build strong rapport and work closely with families to support and coach them as they journey along with their child.
